Young Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt will sashay down the India Bridal Fashion Week (IBFW) ramp for jewellery brand Azva by World Gold Council.

The forthcoming six-day fashion extravaganza will start July 23 at The Grand Hotel in south Delhi. Alia, 20, will walk on the ramp on the event's last day.

The brand's collection revolves around the theme of wedding.
"Every design has been made keeping in mind the bride who is modern and contemporary in style. Alia Bhatt resonates the designs extremely well. She is young, vivacious and is the perfect fit for what we are trying to communicate," Vipin Sharma, director-jewellery, World Gold Council (India) Private Limited, said.

"The designs are stylised in a contemporary way and is meant for young and beautiful girls like Alia," he added.

Alia, daughter of veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, started her film career with "Student Of The Year" (SOTY) last year. She has recently wrapped the shoot of Imtiaz Ali's "Highway", in which she is paired with Randeep Hooda. The film will release Dec 13.

Another project in her kitty is Abhishek Varman's "2 States", in which she will share screen space with Arjun Kapoor.

Sidharth Malhotra sported a red shirt teamed up with a pair of denims. He pulled off the casual look pretty well. But it was the sweat patch that gave him an unflattering look.

Mumbai: Watching 'Lootera' has left an impact on young actress Alia Bhatt, who now wants to do a period film. She is not lured in just for the story, but also for the kind of style and look that it promises.
"I would, at least once in my career, love to do a period film. I think a period film is not only very emotional and very dramatic, the kind of fashion you get to do is outstanding," the 20-year-old said here Monday at the unveiling of the cover of Harper's Bazaar magazine featuring her.
"It's ostentatious, beautiful, vibrant and everything is detailed. So I would love to do a period film, not only for the role, but also for fashion, "she added.
Alia even had a special word of mention for the recently released Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh-starrer 'Lootera', the story of which is set in 1950s.
"Of course, I love 'Lootera'. If you see, 'Lootera' is very beautiful. Every scene is delicate and yet stands out in your face," Alia said.
Talking about the kind of films she wants to do in her career, Alia said: "I have an idea of the different kind of films I want to do. I just want to do lots of films and everything should be different, something that challenges me and caters to the need of the audience as well."

Alia Bhatt not making Tamil film debut opposite Dhanush

Reports had suggested that Alia and Dhanush were coming together for a Tamil film directed by KV Anand

Cinematographer-turned-director KV Anand has refuted rumours that he has casted Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt in his yet-to-be-titled Tamil film featuring Dhanush.

Following a Facebook update from a fake profile under the name of KV Anand, it was reported in some sections of the media that Alia had been finalised for the project.

Clarifying the news on his Twitter page, Anand wrote: "It is not my official (Facebook) page. Fake. I never typed so many words. We are still searching. I will share the news once I confirm someone."

Known for helming Tamil films such as Ayan, Ko and Mattrraan, Anand recently announced his new project with Dhanush. He will start shooting as soon Dhanush is done filming upcoming Tamil comedy Naiyaandi.

The 20-year-old part-time model's long dark hair has been cut into a chic bob and wears a strapless grey Gucci dress and leopard-print stilettos while walking up a ladder (to the top of the Bollywood movie star pack?)

The Mumbai-born cutie, who had her breakout moment in the successful 2012 film "Student of the Year," is working hard to become a familiar face by acting in two new movies: "2 States" with fellow Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor and "Highway" with Randeep Hooda.

But can the active Twitter user measure up to Aishwarya, a former Miss World who is known as the Most Beautiful Woman in the World?

We'll have to give Alia a few years to start the comparisons but the rising star, whose parents and sister were actors and filmmakers, is on the right track; not only is she the face of Garnier and Maybelline in India but girl has some seriously sexy style. `2 States` to release on April 18

Mumbai: Karan Johar`s upcoming production `2 States`, based on Chetan Bhagat`s novel of the same name, will hit the theatres on April 18 next year.  The film directed by Abhishek Varman, stars Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles.  "`2 States` which stars Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt will be releasing on the 18th Of April, 2014," Johar tweeted.  The movie is a Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala production. Arjun plays the character of Krish Malhotra while Alia plays Ananya Swaminathan in the movie.
